A wet start and Hagerstown, MD
First day was not bad. Most of the packing was done yesterday so there was only the motoGP Mugello race to delay my start until just before ten.
Two panniers and a waterproof duffel (which will prove quite necessary).
And on the bike.
About to set off.
All clear sailing until first gas-up at Allentown.
Ah, rain. I knew it was coming.
Then it got serious and I had to pull off the highway at Hagerstown, MD. Found a motel and a brewpub for a post ride beer. Tonight will be an early one then up and at the Blue Ridge parkway tomorrow. Hoping for drier weather. Here’s the Antietam creek looking a bit overfull from weeks of rain around here:
And finally a little motel room quick drying for soggy boots and gloves.
Hoping to make Floyd, VA or if I’m ambitious, Boone, NC tomorrow.
